Rome

The cruise ended in Rome. The four of us spent one day and night in Rome before flying home. Heather and Dave hadn't been to Rome before so they toured the major sites. Justin and I took a bike ride on the Appian Way, an ancient Roman road. We also visited a catacomb. We all met up for one more wonderful Italian dinner before heading back to the hotel to play cards.

There was a huge thunder and lightning storm the morning we deboarded the cruise ship in Rome. It rained harder than I have ever seen.

This old Roman road is 400 miles long and stick-straight.

Justin risking his life to photograph himself biking on the Via Appia Antica. Note the ruts!
