We spent the first week of our Christmas vacation in Leavenworth, WA in a cabin in the snow with the Glessner family. It was a magical week in a gorgeous setting. We enjoyed sledding, snowshoeing, snowboarding, making gingerbread cookies, and soaking in the hot tub. Another highlight was the Christmas Eve sleigh ride. Clay loved opening his stocking and presents, especially his trains and tracks from Nana and Grandpa that he has been playing with enthusiastically ever since.
Like any good family vacation, there were some mishaps, like Victoria falling out of the hot tub and hitting her head on the deck and requiring some staples in the back of her head, and Troy returning to the ER a few days later with pneumonia, and Clay spilling hot wax over his whole body when he was only wearing a swim diaper, and driving over a high mountain pass in a blizzard in the dark, but overall a wonderful time was had by all.
