Clay in a dress
We were discharged from Clay's fourth hospital stay today. He had a scope procedure yesterday and the doctor stuck a camera down his windpipe to see why he is having such trouble breathing. The first picture is what the doctor saw, and the little black opening is his windpipe right under his vocal cords. Its supposed to be the size of a quarter, so no wonder he is having such difficulty breathing. The next two pictures are of Clay right before the procedure. Dana had to wear a big white suite so she could accompany him into the room where they put him to sleep, and we watched cartoons until he was ready to "go under." Thanks for visiting and cheering us all up, Nana and Heather. We all had to wear silly capes and masks around Clay when he was in the PICU after his procedure while we waited for to see if his current virus was RSV - it wasn't. Please pray that God will guide us in what to do next, as fixing this problem surgically is a VERY invasive procedure with a long recovery time. On the other hand, the doctors think this narrow windpipe will not be sufficient for Clay in the long term.
